Humraaz [A Perfect Murder]

In a dismal year, even average fare like Humraaz received loud cheers.

Thriller specialists Abbas-Mastan dipped into the Hollywood reservoir and came up with a convoluted rehash of the Michael Douglas-Gweneth Paltrow starrer A Perfect Murder. Of course, barring the 'husband hiring lover to murder wife' angle in the original film, Humraaz had the usual Baazigar/Soldier kind of bizarre twists and turns.

Humraaz drew in crowds, thanks to its peppy score and Akshaye Khanna's wicked act. But Abbas-Mastan's style is gradually getting as repetitive as David Dhawan's shoddy gags.
