Big B plays God

Amitabh Bachchan

After playing baddie in Aankhen, Amitabh Bachchan will now be seen as Lord Indra in Agni Varsha, Bangalore chef Arjun Sajnani's directorial debut.

Besides Bachchan, the film also stars Raveena Tandon, Sonali Kulkarni and Milind Soman.

The film, based on Girish Karnad's play The Fire and The Rain, will hit the screens in July.

Walt Disney Award for Preity

Actress Preity Zinta was recently awarded the Walt Disney Children's Award for Best Actress for her performance in Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai.

Preity, who also stars in the upcoming Anil Sharma flick, The Hero said that this award was one she was really proud of.

Shabana Azmi honoured

Shabana Azmi

Actress and Rajya Sabha MP, Shabana Azmi will be the recepient of the inaugural Dubai Art Lovers Association (DALA) award for her fight against communalism.

The award comprising Rs 50,000 and a citation would be presented to Azmi at a function on May 17 at Al Nasr Leisure Land, Dubai.

The marquee heats up in May

hrithik Roshan The month of May will see a slew of big budget entertainers at the marquee. Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai) is set for release. Then, there is Hum Kisise Kum Nahin (Amitabh Bachchan, Sunjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Aishwarya Rai) and Na Tum Jaano Na Hum (Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Esha Deol).

Arya Babbar, makes his debut in Ab Ke Baras

Badhaai Ho Badhaai (Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Kirti Reddy); Akhiyon Se Goli Maare (Govinda, Raveena Tandon) and Yeh Hai Jalwa will also see the light of day in the coming month.
