Indra Kumar celebrates the release of Aashiq

Komal Nahta

We've heard of filmmakers celebrating the success of their films but celebrating flops!

Well, that's what Indra Kumar did.

The director of such blockbusters as Dil, Beta, Raja and Ishq threw a small party for close friends on January 26, the day his latest film, Aashiq, hit the screens.

Looking to the encouraging collections on the opening day, Indu - as Indra Kumar is affectionately called - lost no time in arranging an impromptu party that very day to celebrate, what he thought was, the film's success.

The next day the box office collections came crashing down.

It was then that the realisation dawned upon Indu that the good collections on January 26 had nothing to do with his film, but everything to do with the Republic Day of India, a national holiday.
