Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa celebrates silver jubilee

Komal Nahta

For high-profile producer Vashu Bhagnani, a silver jubilee seems to be the most important thing in his life.

He is paying through his nose to ensure that his film, Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa celebrates a silver jubilee at Bombay's New Excelsior cinema.

The Abhishek Bachchan - Kirti Reddy starrer, which opened on August 18, at Minerva cinema in Bombay, was shifted to Shalimar after a 7-week run. At Shalimar, it ran for a week and was shifted to New Excelsior in its matinee shows. It is now in its 23rd combined week at New Excelsior.

While it appears to be fine, the collections of last (22nd) week reveals how far from fine it really is.

The flop film collected a mere 1.53% of the house-full capacity in its 22nd week. In actual monetary terms, it managed a measly collection of Rs 1,658.85 against a capacity of Rs 1,08,493!

So, on an average, about 16 people saw the film in each matinee show of the 22nd week. The seating capacity of the cinema is 1,029!

The magic has surely worked - Vashu Bhagnani's, not the film's! Nothing else would explain why the cinema is dragging Tera Jadoo... to the silver jubilee weak - sorry, week!
