Ghai signs on David Dhawan

Komal Nahta

Subhash Ghai Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts has signed on David Dhawan to direct their next venture.

Although details of the cast and other crew members are not available -- they are yet to be finalised -- Subhash Ghai is confident that the film will be more magnificent and dignified than David's earlier films and will truly be in the tradition of Mukta Arts' quality films.

Will it be a comedy? Yes, but naturally. Ghai says, "It will be a great humorous film -- an all-round entertainer."

And unlike many of David Dhawan's films, which are remakes of South film hits, this one is original. "The David Dhawan story idea is David's," informed the showman, adding, "It will be launched on August 16 this year." The film will be completed early next year.

Meanwhile, Mukta Arts' presentation, Rahul, produced and directed by Prakash Jha, opens this Friday all over. And Yaadein, directed by Subhash Ghai, will release on July 27. Mukta's third offering, Badhai Ho Badhai, directed by Satish Kaushik, will hit the screens in December this year.
