Govinda vs Govinda?

Komal Nahta

Uncertainty looms large over the release of three upcoming Govinda starrers due for release in three consecutive weeks: Beti No 1 (September 22), Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai (September 29) and Shikari (October 6).

Now, here's the uncertainty:

Beti No 1 was earlier finalised for release on September 1, but financial problems turned the release plans topsy-turvy, landed producer Rajiv Kumar in the record 35 days is rumoured to have been postponed by a week to October 6.

Of course, the Jackie camp insists that the film will hit the screens on September 29 as planned, but trade buzz insists otherwise.

The more brazen are even propounding the theory that Amitabh Bachchan requested his Akayla costar to postpone JDMGRH by a week so that son Abhishek's Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke would have no opposition in the week of release!

Just to remind you, Abhishek's third film is due to release on September 29.

It might just be humbug, and the grapevine must be working overtime, but if, for whatever reason JDMGRH is postponed to October 6, Shikari obviously will not be pitted against another Govinda flick.

Or maybe JDMGRH will release after Shikari which will hit the theatres halls on October 6.

Or maybe all three Govinda starrers will stick to their respective dates. Or maybe not...
