Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be affected really badly if Mission Kashmir flops. There are many reasons for this. First, his latest film, Kareeb was a flop, so he needs a hit now. Second, 1942, A Love Story, which was before Kareeb, didn't do that well either. That was unexpected.
He had released Kareeb himself, as he thought he would do a better job. But he lost a lot of money on that. So he is looked upon in the industry as a person who cannot really keep his word.
He needs to change that image.
Third, people might start questioning his abilities if he cannot produce a hit with Hrithik! But, knowing Vidhu Vinod and his inflated ego, he probably thinks he is above hits and flops.
