Barjatyas look beyond Sooraj

Komal Nahta

The Barjatyas are now on the verge of starting multiple productions like they used to in the Seventies and early Eighties.

Sooraj Barjatya, of course, will continue to make films. But since he makes one film in four or five years, the banner will employ directors outside the family to make films. Sooraj Barjatya

Says Rajkumar Barjatya, ''Today films don't enjoy long runs. So it is very difficult to sustain huge offices like ours with just one film in five years.''

The Rajshri banner is the only company in the country to have distribution offices in every circuit. Once it gets into production in big way, it would automatically mean that its distribution division will become busy since home productions are distributed by the Barjatyas themselves.
