Name calling, Bollywood style!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Names are funny business in Bollywood.

Producers Ramgopal Varma and Nitin Manmohan have titled their under-production multi-starrer -- if one could call it that! -- Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega.

As far as long titles go, this one should go a long way. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Fardeen Khan and Aftab Shivdasani with Sonali Bendre and Twinkle Khanna.

What is interesting to note is that this is probably only the second time that the word kuchh has been spelt correctly in a Hindi film title. The first one being B R Ishara's due-for-release, Sub Kuchh. Hardly surprising, given the fact that Ishara is almost a pandit in Hindi himself.

Nevertheless, the 'trendsetter', as far as the misspelling of kuchh is concerned, is Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

The film's tremendous success prompted several film-makers to spell the word in the same incorrect manner. The last among them was Vashu Bhagnani who named his Tusshar (Jeetendra's son -- and yes, he spells his name with a double 's', but that's another story), and Kareena Kapoor starrer Mujhe Kuch Kehnaa Hai.

Just a while ago, when the misspelling was pointed out to him, Vashu feigned helplessness in correcting the spelling as he had already consulted a numerologist in arriving at the spelling.

Coming back to the 'love' word.

At least four films having the L-word in their titles are currently at various stages of production. One is Esmayeel Shroff's Love Junction, while another is Shatabdi Roy-starrer, Love Story Deewano Ki.

Two others have been in the making for quite some time now -- Kundan Shah-directed Loveria which is produced by AB Corp (yet another name change -- the company was once called ABCL) and ad filmmaker Kailash Surendranath's Love You Hamesha which stars Akshaye Khanna, Sonali Bendre and Ria Sen.
