Quietly were they wedV S Srinivasan
Kajol was wearing her spectacles even while she got down from her car along with maternal grandma Shobana Samarth, who was, in her heyday, what Kajol is today. As expected, Kajol had a book in hand. Which explains the spectacles. It wasn't a treatise on the responsibilities of marriage she was reading actually; looked more like another Mills and Boon. Kads will never change.
Among the guests were Karan Johar, Yash Johar, Gautam Rajadhyaksha and Rahul Rawail. Amitabh Bachchan turned up in the evening for the mangalsutra ceremony at 6.30 pm. There were other guests too, the number being put between 53 and 55. Kads looked very pretty and looked on while mother Tanuja and father Shomu Mukherjee who stay separately caught up with each other. The family had a great reunion at the Filmfare awards where Kajol bagged the best actress award.
It was made clear right at the outset that the press wasn't invited. The wedding date was undecided till the very end. The venue was changed after an afternoon paper revealed the venue as a gurdwara at Andheri in northwest Bombay. So the venue was shifted to the Devgun home. A small party was also arranged. And, of course, though the wedding ceremony was simple, plans for the honeymoon are pretty elaborate. The couple is flying to Paris and then on a tour to destinations in Egypt and Europe. Once back, there is the shoot of Dil Kya Kare together to look forward to. Kajol also makes a special appearance in Hindustan Ki Kasam. Kajol prefers being a homemaker to a superstar. Ajay has no problem either way.
