Notion Ink, a Hyderabad-based technology start-up, has launched IMS (I’m Shakti), an Android-based free mobile application that enhances safety for women, kids and generally everybody during emergencies.

“All one has to do is set some emergency contacts and your phone will send them an emergency SMS with a preset message.

“If your phone can find your approximate location, it will be included as part of the emergency SMS,” Rohan Shravan, founder and chief executive officer of Notion Ink told Business Standard.

“Besides features, design has always been our major strength.

Adam-II will come with a dual display with the secondary screen located on the side bar of the device (like a spine of a magazine), which shows all the notifications or messages that are being displayed on the main screen,” Shravan said.

The soon-to-be-launched Adam-II will have a 10.1-inch touchscreen and runs on Android’s Jelly Bean. Powered by an ARM quad core graphics processor, Adam-II is priced below Rs 16,000.

“We are aiming at selling 90,000 units of Adam-II in the first year of launch,” he added.
