In countries where the currency is overvalued, a dollar doesn't go as far. That means it would take more dollars to buy a Starbucks in a country with a strong currency, like Norway, than in one with a country that has a less buying power, like India, according to The Wall Street Journal.
This measure - known as purchasing-power parity - is one way to compare the relative strenghts of currencies, it says.
