Spectacular images from the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011

This is where one can witness the most spectacular automobiles. It is 64th the International Motor Show (IAA) or popularly known as Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Frankfurt Motor Show is the largest auto show in the world, and is held every two years. This year the auto show opens on September 13.

The IAA is held at Frankfurt's Messe complex, and since the last event in 2009, it has carried the theme of 'electrification', with virtually every manufacturer revealing a vehicle using the latest battery technology.

Key features include carbon composite aerodynamic aids that improved aerodynamics over the regular Gallardo, including a manually adjustable rear spoiler (which result in a three-fold increased downforce); as well as improving stability through the corners.

It's a further developed sedan shape with seating for four and a 470-liter boot. And, unlike the current model's conventional four-door set-up, access to the front and rear seats is through a pair of elongated gullwing doors.

Also debuting in Frankfurt will be the Porsche Panamera Diesel, a long-range cruiser with fuel consumption of 37.3mpg, maximum torque of 550Nm and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It will sit alongside the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 and the limited production Porsche Cayman S Black Edition.
