Ferrari 458 Spider

Ferrari unveiled the 458 Spider at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. This convertible variant of the 458 Italia features an aluminium retractable hardtop which, according to Ferrari, weighs 25 kilogrammes less than a soft roof such as the one found on the Ferrari F430 Spider, and can be retracted in 14 seconds.

The engine cover has been redesigned to cope with the retractable roof system. Ferrari plans to make 1,500-2,000 458 Spiders every year. It has the same 0-62 time as the hard-top but it will only do 198 mph (319 km/h).

Jaguar F-Type

The Jaguar F-Type is a two-seat sports car, based on a shortened platform of the XK convertible, that will be manufactured by Jaguar Cars in 2013.

The F-Type was developed under the project code 'X152'. The car has been designed to compete with roadsters such as the Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4, and Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.

A similarly sized concept car, the C-X16, was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011.

Zenvo ST1 Supercar

Zenvo or Zenvo Automotive is a Danish sports car company located in Prasto on the Danish island of Zealand. It is managed by Jesper Jensen, the founder and financier, and Troels Vollertsen. The name 'Zenvo' is derived from a combination of their names.

The Zenvo ST-1 is now being sold in the United States with production being limited to only three cars per year. Distribution is being handled by a California-based company. Cost of the US-based model is estimated at $1.8 million, which includes a free watch valued at $50,000.

McLaren MP4-12C and 12C Spider

The McLaren MP4-12C is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the first production car wholly designed and built by McLaren since the McLaren F1.

The 12C Spider is a convertible version of the MP4-12C with a retractable hardtop. McLaren has worked to preserve the coupe's 328 km/h top speed and up to 315 km/h is possible roof down.

Meanwhile, the dihedral doors of the coupe are retained.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

The SLS AMG Roadster was unveiled by Mercedes-Benz via press release on May 5, 2011. It retains the same specifications, dimensions and drivetrain as the Coupe but is a more traditional convertible with a power folding fabric top and conventional doors.

The roadster weighs only 40 kg more than the original SLS AMG coupe, and the top can be raised or lowered up to 50 km/h. The SLS AMG Roadster is described by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear as being the best car in the world and is a huge fan of the car.

Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is a two-door, two-seater sports car publicly unveiled by Lamborghini at the Geneva Motor Show on February 28, 2011, five months after its initial unveiling in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

Internally codenamed LB834, the Aventador was designed to replace the 10-year-old Murcielago as the new flagship model in the Lamborghini lineup starting in 2011.

Soon after the Aventador unveiling, Lamborghini announced that it had already sold over 12 months of the production vehicles, with deliveries starting in the second half of 2011.

The Bentley Mulsanne is a luxury car produced by Bentley Motors Limited in the United Kingdom. The name is derived from Bentley's historical racing pedigree, which included five victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - the Mulsanne Straight being the stretch of the Le Mans racing circuit where cars reach their highest speeds.

Introduced in Lake Como, Italy at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on May 21, 2011, the Zagato was awarded with the competition's 'Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes', which has also been won by the One-77 in 2009.
