At a session on engaging young NRIs in India's growth story, Minister of State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal listed out the steps that were being taken to make Air India a feasible venture.
Meanwhile the state government continued to discuss its plans on starting Air Kerala, promising flights between Kerala and the Middle East.
Air Kerala has been in the pipeline for several years with the state government keen on bypassing the rule that requires an airline to fly on domestic rules for five years before starting international operations.
Suggesting that flying on domestic routes at the outset would kill the airline, the government has been pushing for a permit to fly on international routes.
Watch what KC Venugopal had to say on the state of the ailing Air India and its potential competitor, Air Kerala.
