siya asked, Mr.Pranav, what is your view about "sell" when share price goes up and buy when market down and again sell when share price goes up, rather than 'hold' as you say always
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, What you are talking about is globally known as taking a contrarian view on the market. That is a view against the market momentum. When I did start the chat the markets were in the throws of a major correction and a lot of investors had lost hope and conviction. My advice for hold should have paid off as most of the frontline stocks which I asked them to hold on have risen back sharply.
siya asked, Mr.Pranav, Iam holding ABB 30 share @ 2300/- what is the future of this stock for three years view?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, I would hold on as ABB is in the power sector equipment business and most parts of India witness acute shortages of power. A growing nation like ours will have tremendous demand for power to supplement it's growth.
kaushik asked, Hi how do u see the mid and small cap banking space? i hold 500 shares of Dena Bank at 24. Should i hold?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, As most of the banking rate hike related issues are getting clearer the midcap banks have started their up move. I would study a midcap bank, look at its NPA percentage and its Balance Sheet before investing. But there are a lot of good Midcap Banks available. Yes you could hold on.
kaushik asked, What do u think of Punj Lloyd? I have 50 bought at 760?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, It is close to your purchase price. It is a commodity stock. So you will have to keep a constant watch on the world commodity index and markets.
kaushik asked, Do u think Kernex Microsystem will rally further in the short term?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, I am sorry I do not follow that stock.
amol asked, what u expect in the short run. what level index will touch and the right time to sell.
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, As I have mentioned in my earlier chats also, one can never predict the right time to sell. One has to see if your profit target has been achieved or if you have another opportunity for investment for which you need liquidity etc. In the short term there could be a small correction but in the longer term markets should move up gradually.

PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, You could hold on for a 10% return then switch to another growth stock.
Gaurav asked, Do you think it is the right time to invest in HPCL
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, The Oil sector has witnessed a lot of ups and downs. A lot of factors affect the oil stocks and especially in India. If you go plainly on fundamentals this stock is a buy but a lot of other global factors affect these stocks. So one has to be carefull.
Gaurav asked, What is your long term view on Pantaloon Retail
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, I am bullish on the stock. I have personally seen a presentation on their expansion plan and their retail format stores of various sizes. I think they will do well in the future. Ofourse, one has to keep in mind the if FDI will be freely allowed then global giants like TESCO and WALMART will jump in and Pantaloon will have stiff competition.
pam asked, sir, aban lloyd & unitech were around 80 and 20 3/4 yrs back; are now in the range of 1k.could you suggest any such stock which will unlock value like them in future?
PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, There are various stocks which could be potential blue chip stocks of the future. One thing a person should keep in mind is which industry is the company in. Is it a sunrise industry or is there already a lot of competition. Also, one could look at the management and its track record etc. One stock which immediately comes to mind is Praj Industries which manufactures plants for Ethanol which is a sunrise industry according to me.

PRANAV SANGHAVI answers, I don't follow the other two. But Rajesh Exports' Balance sheet shows that it is essentially earning the spread in the Indian saving interest rates and the foreign lending rates.
