BlackBerry doesn''t ‘really stand a chance’ with its new smartphones, an expert has said.

Intelligent Business Research Services analyst Guy Cranswick said that launching BlackBerry 10 and the upcoming z10 was RIM’s ‘last best chance to appear as a real player in the Australian market, as well as in the US, UK, and Europe.’

He told News.com.au that it ‘simulates something we''ve already seen a few years ago, and doesn''t do a number of things as well as it should.’

Elaborating his comment Cranswick said that the ‘firm is asking to buy a computer which simulates what people have already experienced on Apple and Android smartphones, but doesn''t have a full ecosystems of apps and the ones it does have a really clunky’.

According to telegraph.com.au, Cranswick, however, he said that BlackBerry could turn things around and that he does not want the company to become the Kodak of the smartphone industry because that would have a "real human impact too".

He added that the smartphone manufacturer needs some ‘good buzz and good reviews’.

BlackBerry maker Research in Motion unveiled its long-awaited line-up of revamped smartphones and software at simultaneous events held in New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Dubai, Johannesburg, Jakarta and Delhi.

Underscoring the stakes riding on the products, RIM announced that it is changing the company''s name to BlackBerry.
