Four months and three days after Sachin Tendulkar's contract with WorldTel expired, the cricket player has found a company to manage his interests.
His interests will now be managed by ICONIX, a new company formed by Publicis Groupe through another group company, Saatchi & Saatchi . ICONIX will be an independent company with its own board and launches its operations with this mega contract.
"I am delighted to be the first client for this new venture. I have entrusted this new entity with the assignment of managing my affairs and have full confidence in their capabilities and in the fact that they will provide the requisite continuity to the brands I am currently associated with," said Tendulkar in a statement. ICONIX will manage all of Sachin's existing brand associations as well as the new ones .
Subsequently, it will move on to managing others in the areas of entertainment and sports.
"The future of the discipline is bright in India and needs a change in terms of management style and vision. We believe we will bring our innovative ideas focus to make the difference," said Saatchi & Saatchi managing director V Shantakumar.
