RBI's new funding norms will revive the infra sector

Following the government's announcement, the Reserve Bank of India has offered banks incentives for extending loans to the infrastructure sector.

Banks can issue long-term bonds to raise funds to finance infrastructure and affordable housing and will have no obligation to meet cash reserve ratio, statutory liquidity ratio and priority sector lending targets on such lending.
