Raj Thackeray sets up aviation, railway unions

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday announced formation of two labour unions in the railways and aviation sector.

The Hawai Karmachari Sena, led by Nitin Sardesai would look after employees interests in aviation industry while the Railway Karmachari Sena, led by Atul Sarpotdar would help workforce in the Railways, Raj said.

He was speaking at a function held at Shanmukhananda Hall at Matunga. "The aviation sector has of late seen a
spurt in problems related to the workforce. Our union would help resolve related issues", Raj said.

"We will soon announce our next course of action. The process of getting recognition from concerned authorities has been", Sardesai said after the meeting. Sarpotdar, who would head the railways union, is son of former Shiv Sena MP Madhukar Sarpotdar.
