The Chennai-based information technology company Polaris Software Lab is looking at establishing a new office in China, which would help the company consolidate its presence in the South East Asian market.

"On the anvil is a new office in China aimed at helping the company consolidate its presence in the South East Asian/Greater China markets," Polaris Software said in its latest annual report (2002-03), released recently.

Polaris said its board of directors has approved the creation of a China-based subsidiary, which would allow the company to expand its customer base and grow its revenues from the region.

At present the company has nine subsidiaries in Singapore, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, Japan and India. That includes two subsidiaries in India.

The company has 10 offshore development centres in India and branch offices in Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, London, Chicago, New Jersey, Fremont, Dubai, Riyadh and Hong Kong.

The report said Polaris has expanded with additional infrastructure to augment the future business growth requirements in two locations, Chennai and New Delhi.
