Telecommunication Minister Kapil Sibal said on Friday Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Finance Minister P Chidambaram have nothing to do with the 2G scam.
"What do you mean by likely to give clean-chit? The fact is all this is nothing to do with the Prime Minister or the Finance Minister.
"We have been telling you this all along. So, that is the case," he shot back when asked about reports that the JPC on the issue is likely to give clean-chit to them.
Sibal was talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.
Bharatiya Janata Party member in Joint Parliamentary Committee Yashwant Sinha on April 1
wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to appear before the panel to clear his name following allegations levelled against him.
A day later Sinha demanded that Chidambaram should also appear before the panel for the truth to come out.
However, JPC chairman P C Chacko, a congress member, hit out at Sinha for writing to Singh for appearing before the panel.
"How can a member of the JPC write a letter to the Prime Minister? It is for the committee to take a decision.
It is only a political stunt and against norms of Parliamentary procedure," Chacko had said.
