After a meeting with IT Minister A Raja, Nilekani told PTI, "I will take some time to announce my agenda (for the project). At present I am looking at all issues."
The former Infosys co-chairman said he would be seeking cooperation of all the ministries, especially the IT ministry, for the success of the project. The chairperson of UID Authority of India holds the rank and status of a cabinet minister.
The Unique Identification Authority of India has multiple objectives. It will lay down the plan and policies to implement the UID, own and operate a database and be responsible for its updation.
Nilekani has said the UIAI would also create a national network of verification so that a person's identity could be proved.
