"MTNL has already initiated dialogues with leading content providers of games, logos and movies and soon we would be partnering with some of them", MTNL executive director Kuldeep Goyal said.
MTNL has launched its broadband services on Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line technology on a trial basis at Cuffe Parade, Cooperage, Malabar Hill, Cumbala Hill, Worli, Prabhadevi, Marol and Hiranandani Gardens exchange area in Mumbai, he said.
"MTNL would be the network provider and Ericsson would provide equipments for the Tri Band. This service would be provided on the existing copper wire and provides direct access to other network without the help of dialup", he said.
The ADSL technology facilitates high speed of data download from 256 kbps to eight mbps and one can access video clips and view them through their personal computer and television, he said.
"Inititally broadband internet services would be available through Tri Band and shortly video-on-demand service would be made available. Multicasting, multimedia, tele medicine services, video conferencing, high-speed gaming, cable TV and broadcast application would be added in future", he said.
He added that MTNL's cable TV services would have the provision for all prime channels.
