While Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata is close to seeing his dream project -- the launch of the Rs 1-lakh 'people's car' -- become a reality, pundits and environmentalists across the country are quite sceptical of the consequences it will have on India's already strained infrastructure.
Even as Tata rattles other car companies -- including Maruti Suzuki, Honda and Toyota -- most Indians are waiting with bated breath to catch a glimpse of the car, which will be unveiled at the Auto Expo in Delhi on January 10.
