All five models have enjoyed a lot of success in India, with the Scorpio having sold 29,000 units in its first 18 months. The Bolero variants have clocked sales of 18,000 units during the past seven months.

"We are extremely pleased to roll out our product line at the Bologna Motor Show. Our vehicles, with their unique blend of style and utility, luxury and ruggedness will, I am sure, appeal to the discerning Italian consumers who 'work hard and play hard.' Moreover, all models are competitively priced and present real value for money propositions."

"We expect our products to generate a good response. This launch marks our entry into the continent and we soon hope to take our models to countries such as Spain, Portugal and France," Durante added.

All three Bolero models boast of CRDi engines with 1997 cc capacity, maximum horsepower of 90 hp@4000 rpm from Peugeot Citroen Motors (PCM). These vehicles also come with a 4x2 option and have ample cargo space to the tune of 670 kg.

The Scorpio is being launched in Italy after its success in the Indian market where it has acquired significant market share. The model comes equipped with a Renault gasoline engine with a maximum horsepower of 116 bhp @ 5500 rpm. The diesel engine vehicle is expected to be launched by March / April 2004.
