Enthused by the liberalised open sky policy, Nira Radia-promoted Magic Airlines on Thursday announced its plans to operate low-budget flights in India with 10 aircraft by the year-end, for which it has sought permission from the government.

The company has filed an application with the ministry of civil aviation for obtaining a 'No Objection Certificate' to operate the airlines under the brand name,  'magicair'.

Announcing the venture, Radia said 'magicair' would redefine air travel with its unique services and value offerings and it hopes to start operations in the second half of 2005.

Operating with 10 aircraft in the first year, 'magicair' would have a pan-India presence connecting all major metros and other major cities including key holiday destinations.

The company promised to offer affordable pricing, world-class product and services and nationwide network.

For operating the airline, Radia also announced her team of top managers, which includes Roland Thomas and Sani Bin Abdullah to handle flight operations and engineering respectively.
