Kingfisher Airlines' dispute with the Income Tax department seems far from over.
Barely a fortnight after the freeze on its bank accounts was lifted, the airline filed an appeal against the department in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal at Bengaluru, disputing the Rs 370-crore (Rs 3.7 billion) tax demand levied on it for 2010-13.
Kingfisher
filed the appeal last week and it will come up for hearing in June. In its appeal, the airline said the order demanding Rs 304 crore (Rs 3.04 billion) in tax dues and Rs 66 crore (Rs 660 million) in interest for the last three years was unjustified.
