S D Shibulal, director and co-founder, Infosys Technologies, has been given the responsibility of global sales head after Basab Pradhan quit the company recently.
A spokesperson for Infosys confirmed the development. Shibulal has served as a director at Infosys from 1984 to 1991 and, thereafter, since November 1996. From 1981 to 1991, Shibulal worked for Infosys in the US on projects in manufacturing and retail industries.
According to Infosys, Shibulal is responsible for the performance of practice units in terms of constant improvement in the quality of customer deliverables, timelines, profits and targets, and employee productivity.
He is also instrumental in fostering innovation, leadership, teamwork and work values within the organisation.
In another delegation of responsibilities, Infosys has said that after its vice-president -HR Hema Ravichander also quit the company, Bikramjit Maitra is head-HRD, Infosys, while Mohandas Pai in addition to being CFO will also be director HR at Infosys.
