If you are completing your graduation, it may make sense for you to also spend some time doing a professional course in management simultaneously, since corporates are flocking to institutes looking to hire students with dual qualifications.
Siddharth Gopal is one such student, who is studying both night and day - as the saying goes, he's burning the candle at both ends.
He attends B.Com classes in the morning and spends his evening taking Business Management lessons at SP Jain Institute. At just 20 years of age, Siddharth already has his eyes set on an entry into the big corporate world. "I want to get into marketing. I am looking at ICICI, Reliance and Dabur," says the hyper-focused young man.
But he is not the only one completing a dual qualification. SP Jain has 30 other students who are taking a part-time management course along with their graduation. The course offers six specializations like IT, banking, insurance and marketing.
Additionally, the institute has tied up with companies like ICICI Bank, Citigroup and Reliance Industries, for these specializations. These companies not only give students hands on training in their respective fields, but also employ them after the course is completed.
"These students will be picked up at the junior executive level in sectors like IT, banking and insurance," confirms Joint Director, SP Jain Institute, Sunil Rai.
But it's not just these industries who are on the lookout for qualified talent. The sunrise sectors like the hotel industry are also facing a huge talent crunch. Experts feel that these vocational courses could also be a possible solution to their problem.
