Golden Palms to promote medical tourism

Bangalore-based Golden Palms Spa & Resort and medical tourism company Vedic India on Thursday announced an agreement for promoting medical tourism in the country.

"Under the agreement, foreign patients coming for medical treatment through Vedic India would be given a complete line of therapies and treatments at the American/Asian/European Spa at Golden Palms," actor Sanjay Khan, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of Golden Palms, said in Mumbai.

"The idea is to provide the best medical treatment possible, away from the clinical atmosphere of the hospitals and offer preventive healthcare, pre- and post-medical treatment and relaxation in calm and beautiful surroundings," he said.

Vinod Tenguria of Vedic India said his company had a patient base of 165,000, mostly Non-Resident Indians, and was expecting to bring about 10,000 patients in the country for medical treatment and recuperation in the next one year.

He said the company was targeting a turnover of about 50-60 crore (Rs 500-600 million) for the next fiscal.
