India's first adventurous underwater sea walk project has been launched in Goa, with Mumbai-based H20 Private Limited offering its clients an opportunity to walk on the sea floor and get a clear view of marine life.
"One can walk for 20 minutes underwater enjoying the pristine water world. Swimmers and non-swimmers alike can enjoy this unique opportunity to explore the heart of the sea safely," stated Rajiv Somani, managing director, H20 Private Limited.
The company has initiated the project on Goa's Baina beach in south Goa. It also runs an adventure sports project at Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai.
Somani feels that tourists are major clientele for this walk, which is first of its kind in the country. "India is one of the fastest growing countries in terms of tourism demand and there is a huge vacuum that needs to be filled in the leisure sports and entertainment sector," said Somani.
The company hopes to create landmark in water sports in Goa, he said.
"We began at Chowpatty with a turnover of Rs 1 crore (Rs 10 million) in the year 2000-2001 and the turnover has reached Rs 12.8 million in the year 2004-2005," informed Somani.
