Integrated financial self-service systems provider Diebold announced on Thursday plans to make India a key manufacturing operation base for South Asia.
"The Indian market would continue to grow and we plan to commit additional resources to service the market for our customers," Diebold CEO Walden W O'Dell said at the inauguration of the Automated Teller Machine facility of Tata Infotech at Goa.
The US-based company has entered into a contract manufacturing agreement with Tata Infotech under which the latter would manufacture ATMs for Diebold for distribution in India and South East Asia.
The 33,000 sq ft facility would be equipped with ultra modern manufacturing, testing, assembly equipment to supply ATMs and cash dispensers.
