A mini-car for Rs 35,000?

Students at the IIMT Engineering College in Meerut on Thursday displayed a mini-car developed by them which they claimed was not only fuel-efficient, but also dearth cheap at Rs 35,000!

The car has a modified gearbox, the team of engineering students from the college said while displaying the mini-car. They claimed that the car will run 35 km to a litre of fuel.

The students said they had spent Rs 20,000 in developing the car and if manufactured for commercial purposes it could be priced at around Rs 35,000.

Besides, the 180-kg car would be easy to park as its measures just 1.6 metres in length and 0.9 metres in breadth, they claimed.
