The month of October is going to be one of the most exciting for the automobile industry as an array of launches are lined up. What is significant about this month is that it also ushers the festival season which is exciting for both automakers and buyers. We present a list of the 5 most anticipated launches and two of them are from the country's largest passenger carmaker, Maruti.
Maruti Ertiga Facelift
The updates for the popular MPV would not be just cosmetic but also under the hood. The vehicle will get certain mechanical tweaks for better fuel economy with the new facelift said to produce a mileage of 25.2kmpl. The Smartplay infotainment system will also be part of the features’ update. The price of Maruti Ertiga is likely to be around Rs 600,000 and launch of the car will happen on October 10.
Maruti Baleno
First in the list is Maruti Baleno. It will help the company to enter the premium hatchback game and will join Maruti S-Cross as part of the Nexa dealership. The car would come with a 1.3 litre diesel engine that will work with the mild-hybrid technology. We have already seen a glimpse of the same technology in Maruti Ciaz. As far as statistics go, Maruti Baleno would generate 88bhp power along with 200Nm torque. On October 26, Baleno will be launched in the Indian market at a base price of Rs 550,000.
Chevrolet Trailblazer
Trailblazer has already been spied making its test runs on the streets of Jaipur. The premier SUV looks exquisite from whatever we have seen with a power output that is unparalleled in its class at 200bhp while the torque is 500Nm which is also the best in its segment. Chevrolet Trailblazer may launch in the early part of October and will arrive in the country as a completely built unit. Expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh, Chevrolet Trailblazer would be competing against Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the segment.
Abarth Punto Evo
Abarth Punto Evo is going to be the hottest hatch of the season with its stylish appearance featuring 16-inch scorpion sting alloy wheels. The vehicle will sport the Abarth scorpion badging that makes it stand out from the crowd. Under the hood, the car will feature a 1.4 litre Linea based engine that would carve away an impressive 145bhp power. The price tag for the vehicle would be around Rs 850,000.
Audi Q7
Lastly, we have the big one from the legendary German automaker as the company gears up to launch Audi Q7 in India. The performance cum luxury SUV will be featuring a 3-litre V6 engine working in sync with an 8-speed automatic transmission system. Audi Q7 will derive 272bhp power and 600Nm torque which is quite impressive. As far as price is concerned, Audi Q7 will be available at around Rs 75 lakh.
