The Apollo Group of Hospitals is planning to add four more SUGARĀ Clinics, its value-added service for diabetes management and care, in Hyderabad in a couple of months, according to Sudhir Diggikar, chief executive of Apollo Clinic.
After the launch of the first SUGAR Clinic in Hyderabad on Friday, he said the company was incorporating specialised diabetic care as part of the Apollo Clinic to cater to the ever-burgeoning populace suffering from diabetes.
At present, there are 88 Apollo Clinics across the country, including 10 in Hyderabad.
At SUGAR, the emphasis will be on prevention, timely diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, SG Moazam, clinical head (sugar), Apollo Clinic, said, adding that diabetes was turning epidemic in India with already 62.4 million suffering from the disease and estimated to impact over 100 million by 2030.
