Allied Computers International (Asia ) Pvt Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of ACi plc (UK), has bagged an order for 1,000 notebooks, worth Rs 7 crore (Rs 70 million), from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar.

The company, in a media release, said this is India's largest notebook order.

ACi plans to offer students' notebooks at the price of a desktop via a special tie-up between ACi and educational institutions. The first in the series is the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology.

ACi will work as a joint business partner with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology to help the institute fulfill its goal of becoming the country's first institute to provide all their students with a laptop.

KIIT is the only institute in India that will provide notebooks to its faculty as well as to students of all branches, namely, PGDM, MCA, Diploma and Degree in Engineering.

Under its technical education and training programme, KITT has set up a number of technical institutions to provide quality technical education from vocational to master's level.

ACi scores on the price and after-sales service fronts which make its notebooks very affordable. The company will provide the KIIT students the latest technology notebooks at 'the lowest price possible without compromising on the quality of products and the service,' the release said. ACi notebooks have won numerous international awards.
