As many as 31 MoUs were inked today on the inaugural day of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2015, a top official said. "8 to 12 important MoUs were inked during different themes seminar, while the total MoUs were 31," Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department, Arvind Agrawal, told reporters.
The major MoU exchange was done between World Bank, Government of India and Government of Gujarat, he said. "World bank will support Gujarat in the 'Swachhta Abhiyan' (cleanliness mission) and to build smart cities," Agrawal said. According to an official release, other key MoUs were inked by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for rail systems and Indo- Chin Development Private Ltd for a trade centre.
On the theme 'Gujarat: preferred hub for defence production', as many as 11 MoUs were signed.
One of the MoUs included Adani Enterprise's interest to develop integrated solar PV manufacturing cluster and Narmada Bio-chem to produce organic and inorganic fertiliser. Welspun Group's signed an MoU for an integrated steel plant, Pradip Overseas Ltd in specialty, fine chemical and auto components while Syntex industries made a pact in plastic products.
Twelve MoUs were signed in field of innovation in food processing for sustaining food security.
The Ratan Tata and Navajbai Ratan Tata trust inked an MoU to develop 60,000 households for tribal community, while Surat district cooperative milk union inked a pact to develop an ultra high temperature milk plant. According to a statement, Nabard will initiate strategic partnership for training and capacity building of self help groups while CIPET Ahmedabad under its MoU will give vocational training to 9,000 tribal youths in Valsad district.
