Satyam's newly-appointed CEO A S Murty has received a thumbs up from the company's board, which is "very happy" with the way he has shaped up so far in dealing with the evolving situation in the firm.
"The board is very happy with Murty," Satyam chairman Kiran Karnik said on Monday.
Murty was appointed CEO of the beleaguered IT major in early February after Satyam's board felt it would be better to have an insider of the firm as CEO rather than outsiders.
"He (Murty) has been good in dealing with the current situation in Satyam," Karnik said.
Since his appointment, Murty has been constantly interacting with employees to bolster their morale as well as with company clients in a bid to retain them.
"The Satyam board is very happy with Murty's performance in terms of customer and employee-retention," Karnik said, adding that the Satyam CEO is also playing an important role in charting out the operational roadmap for the company in the short term.
