Eclipse 500, world's lightest jet?

The Eclipse 500 is the least-expensive high-performance twin-engine jet to own and operate.

In 2001, the detail design for the Eclipse 500 is completed and the first piece of aluminum is cut for the first aircraft.

The Eclipse 500 is flown for the first time on August 26, 2002.
