Wipro Q3 PAT up at Rs 1,004 crore

Wipro, the Bangalore-based software major, has reported a 18 per cent increase in net profit.

It announced the following audited consolidated results for the quarter ended December 31, 2008:

The group has posted a net profit of of Rs 1,004 crores (Rs 10.04 billion for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 854 crore (Rs 8.54 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2007.

Total income has increased from Rs 5433 crore (Rs 54.33 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 to Rs 6773 crore (Rs 67.73 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2008.
