Majority of Indian-Americans feel that their fellow compatriot Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal 'squandered' the opportunity of a lifetime to catch the imagination of Americans through his speech made in response to President Barack Obama's maiden address to the US Congress.
Except the diehard Republicans supporters, a majority of the Indian-Americans who posted their view on the popular web forum of South Asian Journalist Association said they were not impressed by Jindal's speech and that he wasted a 'golden opportunity' to catch the imagination of mainstream Americans.
Jindal gave the official response to Obama's speech through a televised address on the prime time.
Soon after Obama's speech, a large number of Indian Americans all over the country remained glued to the televisions sets to listen to the much hyped speech of Jindal, whom the American media has now started calling him charismatic and a challenger to Obama's presidency in 2012.
"Bobby Jindal squandered the opportunity of a lifetime tonight," wrote John Laxmi from New Jersey on the SAJA Forum.
"It did not look like Jindal rehearsed at all. He talked too
fast, as he always seems to do. What's the hurry?" she asked.
