Twelve Indians have been anointed by Forbes magazine as having the Midas touch -- they have been included in its coveted list of top 100 start-up investors who used their golden touch to help adolescent companies become profit-making ventures.
Forbes noted that venture capitalists raised and invested nearly $28 billion in 2008. However, the report noted that only six venture-backed companies had IPOs in 2008, down from 86 companies in 2007, reflecting the hard economic scenario.
While Ram Sriram is at No. 3, well-known venture capitalist Vinod Khosla is not on the list. Click here to find out which other Indians made the list and why.
