The West Bengal government on Friday submitted specific economic and land-based proposals to Trinamool Congress on Singur issue at the third meeting of a committee set up to identify land for returning to unwilling farmers.
Declining to divulge details of the proposals, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Managing Director Subrata Gupta said after the meeting that 'we placed some specific economic and land-based proposals before Trinamool Congress.'
Trinamool Congress representative at the meeting Rabindranath Bhattacharya said he would take up the proposals with the party leadership for a decision.
Meanwhile, the Tatas informed the state government that the land claimed by Trinamool Congress to be vacant were not so, Industry Secretary Sabyasachi Sen said.
''We sent feedbacks received from Trinamool Congress to the Tata Motors about the claimed vacant plots and the Tatas have given a reply stating that those plots were already shown in the planned land-use maps for the small car project,'' Sen said.
The committee, comprising the Managing Director of WBIDC and District Magistrate of Hooghly Neelam Meena from the government side and Rabindranath Bhattacharya and Becharam Manna from Trinamool Congress, would meet again on Saturday.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has said the task of the committee was to locate 300 acre within the Tata Motors project area and 100 acre outside.
The WBIDC MD later briefed Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee of the outcome of the two-hour meeting of the committee.
He also met the industry secretary, chief secretary and the secretary.
To a question, the industry secretary said he had come to know of the Calcutta high court's interim stay to the Chief Information Commissioner of West Bengal not to make public the full text of the tripartite agreement between Tata Motors, state government and WBIDC.
The state government, he said, had not made public on the WBIDC website the annextures of the agreement.
