Now, a 'robotic caddy' for golfers

July 3, 2008

Scientists have invented a "robotic caddy" that can carry golfers' bags and equipments as they play.

The Shadow Caddy robot, operated using a transmitter, follows a golfer so long as he/she has the transmitter clipped to his/her belt.

The robot has also been equipped with an infrared collision-avoidance system, which keeps it from running into you or other golfers.

It can even avoid falling into a water hazard or sand trap.

The robot also stays quiet because it does not have speech capabilities at all, reports Live Science.
