Inflation unchanged at 3.5%

Inflation based on the wholesale-price-index was unchanged at 3.5 per cent for the week ended December 29, 2007.

Inflation based on the wholesale-price-index remained unchanged for the week ended December 29 at it's previous week's level of 3.5 per cent. The annual inflation rate during the corresponding week last year stood at 5.89 per cent.

Prices of primary articles like fruits, vegetables, fish, moong declined during the week while the prices of arhar, bajra, increased. Prices of the food, fuel groups remain unchanged whereas prices of manufacturing products rose by 0.2 per cent.

Government revised the infaltion rate for the week ended November 3, 2007 to 3.35 per cent from 3.11 per cent as reported earlier.
