Indra Nooyi-led cola major PepsiCo also figures in the Fortune list.
Nooyi, who succeeded Steve Reinemund as chief executive officer of the company, on August 14, 2006, was named the 'Most Powerful Woman in Business' in 2006 and 2007 by Fortune.
LSI Corporation headed by Abhijit Y Talwarkar was also caught in the economic turmoil. Talwalkar has been the president and CEO and member of the Board of Directors since May 2005.
Annual profit dropped for three other firms too:
Citigroup, and
Surya Mohapatra-run medical devices maker Quest Diagnostics.
Surya Mohapatra has been the chief executive officer of Quest Diagnostics Inc since 2004.
But there is a silver lining to all this. The full-year revenue has increased for as many as nine American companies (headed by Indians), except for Hartford Financial Services, run by Ramani Ayer.
Ayer is the president, chairman, and chief executive officer of the Hartford Financial Services Group (The Hartford), one of the largest investment and insurance companies in the United States. Ayer joined The Hartford in 1973 and worked his way up from a position in the operations research department to head the company in 1997.
