At a time when exporters and IT companies are worried about the Rupee getting stronger against the US Dollar, subsequently "affecting business", Shiv Nadar, founder of software and hardware major HCL said things are doing fine.

He said the appreciation of the Indian Rupee was in no way affecting the IT business.

"The industry is indeed doing fine. Being a new industry it will grow with imperfections," he said while responding to a query whether the trend had any impact on the industry, especially HCL.

The IT industry was only a decade-old, according to the former chairman and now chief strategies officer of HCL, and therefore he termed it as a new industry.

"The growth started just around 1997-98," he said. Asked whether HCL had any plans of manufacturing low-cost computers, Nadar said he was not aware of any such plans.
