He said the appreciation of the Indian Rupee was in no way affecting the IT business.
"The industry is indeed doing fine. Being a new industry it will grow with imperfections," he said while responding to a query whether the trend had any impact on the industry, especially HCL.
The IT industry was only a decade-old, according to the former chairman and now chief strategies officer of HCL, and therefore he termed it as a new industry.
"The growth started just around 1997-98," he said. Asked whether HCL had any plans of manufacturing low-cost computers, Nadar said he was not aware of any such plans.
