India's largest coffee shop chain Cafe Coffee Day is planning to launch 300 more outlets as part of its expansion in the international market. The company will open 30 outlets across the Europe in the next two year.
Café Coffee Day is a division of India's largest coffee conglomerate, Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd, popularly known as Coffee Day, a Rs. 300 crore (Rs 3 billion) ISO 9002 certified company. Coffee Day sources coffee from 5000 acres of coffee estates, the 2nd largest in Asia, that is owned by a sister concern and from 11,000 small growers. It is one of India's leading coffee exporters with clients across USA, Europe & Japan.
According to Cafe Coffee Day senior marketing executive Simran Sablok the company has been encouraged by the success of offering a world class coffee experience.
"Cafe Coffee Day has opened an outlet in Austria and is planning to open more cafes in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Egypt and South East Asia in the coming months. We would be present in 50 international locations by the end 2008. We have plans to open 30 cafes in European continent. Also, we will add more cafes in cities like Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan," he said.
He said the company would be increasing the number of Cafe Coffee Day outlets in India from present 450 cafes to 750 outlets by the end of the next year.
"We have tied up with petroleum companies like BPCL and HPCL for opening our coffee outlets at the gas stations owned by the respective companies along the highways across India. Also, we will open many more outlets away from the gas stations along the highways," added Sablok.
The company has 5000 acres of coffee estates and collects coffee from 11,000 small growers across the country.
The Cafe Coffee Day pioneered the cafe concept in India in 1996 by opening its first cafe in Bangalore.
