The National Multi-Commodity Exchange on Tuesday launched a new series in Soya oil, Guar seed and Chana desi for futures contracts.
According to an NMCE release, the new contracts in Soya oil and Guar seed will mature on October 20, 2007, whereas that in Chana desi on December 20, 2007. The first delivery day begins three days ahead of the maturity date on October 17 for Soya oil and Guar seed, and on December 17, 2007 for Chana desi.
The delivery centre for Soya oil is Indore in Madhya Pradesh and that for Guar seed are Jodhpur (basis centre), Bikaner, Nokha in Rajasthan and Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through Central Warehouse Corporation Receipt. The delivery centre for Chana is CWC warehouse in Delhi.
At present, NMCE runs futures contracts in about 200 series in 70 commodities, including bullion, non-ferrous base metals, rubber, cardamom, pepper and raw jute.
Meanwhile, NMCE started future contract in turmeric of Erode variety from Saturday, beginning with four series, expiring on August, September, October and November, 2007.
